Not only do Tensile Cables supply the cables for balustrades, but the posts as well, offering a turnkey solution. Premade balustrade posts with cables cut to length and a hand tool for hire allows you to self-install. Sean Gomes of the Wellness Warehouse personally installed a new wooden pool deck at his home in Cape Town, and surrounded it with a minimalist balustrade solution from Tensile Cables.
The wooden deck was supplied by Rarewoods, and installed by engineer Jan Tredoux. Gomes and Tredoux made use of Tensile Cables hand tool to tension the cables to the posts secured to the wooden deck.
We loved Gomes’ addition of creeper plants at the foot of the deck which in time will grow onto the balustrade cables, much like a trellis.
Our balustrade posts allow for various finishes, and we think the use of wood at the Gomes residence is the perfect complement for both the stainless steel cables, and its wooden patio. Tensile Cables uses only Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel cables which weather Cape Town’s salty sea air and rain for an extended lifespan.
