At the new office park in Century City at the end of 2013, our trellises had just been installed and while structurally beautiful, they were still bare. Eight months later, foliage started cascading down the walls greening The Business Centre office block.
Tensile Cables’ specialised trellis clamps, are small and aesthetically pleasing, while strong enough to support extensive plant growth along the wall.
Within 3 – 12 months of installation, foliage will be growing all over the walls and providing protection and longevity for the wall.
So long as the trellis is regularly cleaned alongside the building’s maintenance, or when watering the foliage, even in coastal environments, the Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel used to make these trellised boasts an indefinite lifespan.
General air quality around the building is improved as the plant life absorbs carbon dioxide and emits oxygen. The walls are also better insulated, aiding the heating and cooling costs of the building.
With many construction companies concerned with the carbon footprint of their buildings, green wall trellises aid in meeting requirements set by the Green Building Council’s Green Star Rating system.
